   Julien's two goals give Ramapo 2-1 win over Suffern

 

    SUFFERN -- John Julien scored his second goal of the game with two minutes remaining, giving visiting Ramapo a 2-1 win over Suffern in a Conference IV American League game.

    Julien gave Ramapo a 1-0 lead 12 minutes into the second half, but Suffern’s Paulo Menendez answered three minutes later with a goal.

    Anthony Cerenard and Ande Estime had the Ramapo assists.

   Castillo's two goals fuel Pearl River win

 

    SPRING VALLEY -- Alex Castillo scored two goals in the second half yesterday, leading Pearl River to a 3-0 win over host Spring Valley in a Conference IV cross-over game.

    Justin Cueva made seven saves for Pearl River as the Pirates handed Spring Valley its first loss in nine game.

    Jared Schlosser scored in the first half for Pearl River, which received assists from Andrew Guarino and Giovanni Galvano.

   Barbetto overtime goal sends Rams to win

 

    NEW CITY -- Anthony Barbetto scored the winning goal in overtime yesterday as Clarkstown North overcame visiting Clarkstown South, 3-2 in a Conference IV American League game.

    Clarkstown South Sean Diffley forced the extra sessions with the equalizer with 17 seconds remaining in regulation.

    Rob Kcira and Nick Conroy gave Clarkstown North a 2-0 lead in the second half before Roberto Dashi got the Vikings on the board.

   Dominguez, Diaz-Alertini goals in second half give Suffern 2-1 win over North Rockland

    Goals two minutes apart hand North Rockland first loss

 

     THIELLS -- Christian Dominguez and Keith Diaz-Albertini scored two minutes apart in the second half yesterday, giving Suffern a 2-1 win over host North Rockland in a Conference IV American League boys’ soccer game.

     It was North Rockland’s first loss of the season. Prior to this game, North Rockland had allowed only one goal this season.

     Dominguez scored two minutes into the second half, assisted by Diaz-Albertini. Two minutes later, Diaz-Alnertini doubled the lead.

     Jheison Villareal cut the lead in half with a goal at the 22-minute mark.

     Ryan Miller made nine saves for Suffern and North Rockland’s Brian McNicholas had five saves.

   Corrado's two goals keep Spring Valley rolling in 4-0 win over Nyack

    Tigers 7-0-1 in their last games, Jean-Charles adds goal and two assists

 

    SPRING VALLEY -- Saul Corrado scored twice and Orphee Jean-Charles had a goal and two assists yesterday as Spring Valley defeated visiting Nyack, 4-0 in a Conference IV National League boys’ soccer game.

     Spring Valley is 7-0-1 in its last eight games.

     Jean-Charles opened the scoring 34 minutes into the first half, assisted by Carl Henry Saint-Jean. Four minutes later, Corrado scored his first goal, finishing off a Jean-Charles pass.

     Corrado and Jean-Charles combined on the first goal of the second half, then Sebastian Taloute scored his first varsity goal, assisted by Fritz Desse.

Spring Valley 2 2 -- 4

   Tappan Zee records first shutout of the season in win over Nyack

    Lynch, defense have solid game

 

    ORANGEBURG -- John Brancato off of a throw-in with 14 minutes remaining in the game yesterday, giving Tappan Zee a 1-0 win over visiting Nyack in a National League boys’ soccer game.

     Tappan Zee coach credited goalie Cian Lynch and his defense of Mike Trinkoff, Pat Peterson, Matt Mitchell, Joey Amoia, and Manny Cabrera with playing an excellent game as the Dutchmen recorded their first shutout.

 

   Frigge goal in overtime sends Suffern to 2-1 victory over Clarkstown South

 

    SUFFERN -- Nathan Frigge scored in the first extra session, assisted by Danny Small, yesterday as Suffern overcame visiting Clarkstown South, 2-1 in overtime of an American League boys’ soccer game.

     Suffern’s Christian Dominguez scored in the second half to even the score after Sean Diffley had a goal in the first half for the Vikings.

     Ryan Miller made 12 saves for the Mounties and Clarkstown South goalie Aldair Gonzalez had nine saves.

 

   North Rockland remains undefeated on Corrado and Landes goals

   THIELLS -- Johnny Corrado and Johnny Landes scored yesterday as North Rockland remained undefeated with a 2-0 win over visiting Ramapo in an American League game.

     Brian McNicholas handled five shots for the Red Raiders. Clodalain LoLo had an assist.

Ramapo goalie Abner Duran made 11 saves.

 

   Spring Valley, Albertus Magnus play to 1-1 draw

 

    SPRING VALLEY -- Denis Michalak scored with 14 minutes remaining in regulation, sending Albertus Magnus to a 1-1 overtime tie with host Spring Valley in a National League boys‘ soccer game.

     Michalek had a penalty kick earlier in the second half, but Spring Valley goalie Maycoll Marroquin made the save.

     Carl Henry Saint-Jean finished a Saul Corrado cross in the first half. Spring Valley is 4-1-1 in its last six games.

     Martin Cummings assisted on Michalek’s goal and Tim Morris made seven saves.

   Villarreal's two goals give North Rockland win

    Red Raiders hand Suffern first loss

 

    SUFFERN -- Jheison Villarreal scored two goals seven minutes apart in the second half yesterday, sending visiting    North Rockland to a 3-1 win over Suffern in an American League boys’ soccer game.

     North Rockland improved to 5-0 on the season, but did allow its first goal when Christian Dominguez scored on a penalty kick against his Hudson Valley scholastic men’s soccer teammate, Brian McNicholas. The duo helped Hudson Valley win the gold medal at the 2010 Empire State Games.

     Johnny Landes gave North Rockland a 1-0 lead, scoring with 11 remaining in the first half, with Alejandro Ramon assisting. Villarreal scored his first goal, assisted by Neil Francis, two minutes into the second half, and seven minutes later capitalized on a penalty kick.

Suffern 0 1 -- 1

   Two goals in first half give Clarkstown North win over Ramapo

 

    NEW CITY -- Dan Rivera, Anthony Barbetto and Rob Kcira scored goals yesterday as Clarkstown North defeated visiting Ramapo, 3-2 in an American League boys’ soccer game.

    “It was a great game as both teams had a number of opportunities,” Clarkstown North coach Bryan Bentley said. “There were fierce battles at midfield for 50/50 balls.

    “Ramapo is a fast team down the lines so we stepped up on defense and opened up the field to help on the attack.

    Christian Diaz scored Ramapo’s goals.

   Albertus Magnus, Morris shut out Clarkstown South

 

     BARDONIA -- Denis Michalak and Martin Cummings scored yesterday as Albertus Magnus shut out visiting Clarkstown South, 2-0 in a boys’ soccer game.

     Michalek opened the scoring in the first, converting a penalty kick. Cummings doubled the Falcons’ lead in the second half, finishing off a pass from James Huber.

     Albertus goalie Tim Morris handled 11 shots and Clarkstown South goalie collected 11 saves.

   Recinos, Jean-Charles give Spring Valley second straight win

   Tigers take Clarkstown North, 6-1

 

    SPRING VALLEY -- Edwin Recinos had two goals and Orphee Jean-Charles collected four assists yesterday as Spring Valley defeated visiting Clarkstown North, 6-1.

     It was Spring Valley's second consecutive win and rain its unbeaten string to four games.

     Recinos and Jean-Charles connected on the game's first two goals, 90 second apart. Saul Corrado fed Karlyl Simon for the Tigers' third goal of the first half, then Corrado capped the first-half scoring with Jean-Charles adding his third assist.

     Anthony Barbetto scored for Clarkstown North with Tom Kcira assisting.

   Kentimenos goal propels North Rockland to 1-0 win over Arlington
    Top seed advances to Section 1 semifinals
 
     THIELLS -- Francesca Kentimenos scored with 12 minutes remaining in the first half yesterday, sending top-seeded North Rockland to a 1-0 win over eighth-seeded Arlington in a Section 1 Class AA girls' soccer quarterfinal.
     Eleni Anselmi set up Kentimenos. Freshman goalie Shannon Robinson made nine saves for North Rockland, which will host a semifinal game tomorrow.
 
   McMahon nets two goals in Clarkstown South 4-0 win over Yorktown
    Top seed advances to Section 1 semifinals
 
     WEST NYACK -- Brianna McMahon scored two goals and Clarkstown South's defense played a solid game as the sixth seed defeated No. 19 Yorktown, 4-0 in a Section 1 Class AA girls' soccer quarterfinal.
     Clarkstown South advances to a semifinal tomorrow.
     Kaitlyn Montera had a goal and an assist and goalie Jill Murawski stopped three shots.
     "Our defense of Elisa Cullaro, Katie Burrell, Shannon Kopunek and Chelsea Christonikos, played very well, and only allowed three shots on goal which Jill Murawski dealt with easily," Clarkstown South coach Tom Rolston said. "Christina Jean-Charles also played very well in the midfield, shutting down their best player and creating chances for us."
     Montera opened the scoring in the first half, finishing off a Carly Glaser pass. Briana Jean-Charles assisted on McMahon's first goal, just before halftime.
     Glaser fed Brianna McMahon for her second goal of the game. Shannon Kopunek made the play with a run to take the ball from a Yorktown defender. Allison Kopunek capped the scoring, heading in an Allison Kopunek corner kick.

   Clarkstown North blanks East Ramapo behind Fallon, Schwartz

    Fallon scored two goals, Schwartz makes one save in shutout

 

    NEW CITY -- Colleen Fallon scored two goals and Brooke Schwartz made one save yesterday as Clarkstown North defeated visiting East Ramapo, 4-0 in a Conference IV American League girls’ soccer game.

     Erica Ronda and Janie Lachman also scored for the Rams, who led 1-0 at halftime. Mackenzie McIndoe, Christina Graziano, Sandy Vucinic and Liz Paihikos had assists.

 

    Glaser, Jean-Charles goals in second half lift Clarkstown South over Suffern

 

   WEST NYACK -- Carly Glaser and Briana Jean-Charles scored in the second half yesterday, giving Clarkstown South a 2-0 win over visiting Suffern in a Conference IV American League game.

     Jill Murawski made two saves to record her seventh shutout of the season. Clarkstown South has won nine of its last 11 games and is 11-4 this season.

   Jean-Charles' goal in overtime gives Clarkstown South, 1-0 win over Albertus Magnus

    Vikings have won eight of their last nine games

 

    WEST NYACK -- Christina Jean-Charles scored in the first overtime period yesterday, lifting Clarkstown South to a 1-0 win over visiting Albertus Magnus in a non-league girls’ soccer game.

     This was Clarkstown South’s eighth win in its last nine games, as it improved to 8-3 this season.

     Allison Kopunek assistsed on Jean-Charles’ winning goal. Jill Murawski made three saves for the victors and Tara Condon had an excellent game for Albertus Magnus with 15 saves.

 

   Aristizabal scores twice in Pearl River's 6-1 win over Hastings

 

    PEARL RIVER -- Emily Aristizabal scored two goals yesterday as Pearl River defeated visiting Hastings, 6-1 for in a girls’ soccer game for its seventh win of the season.     Pearl River also received goals from Lauren Cook, Amanda DeCourcey, Marissa Scognamiglio and Samantha Payne.

     Madeline Wilson and Francesca Cobuzzi each made four saves for Pearl River.

   Marshall's two goals key Nyack win over Scarsdale B

 

    UPPER NYACK -- Sophia Marshall scored two goals and Taryn Brady added a goal and an assist yesterday as Nyack defeated visiting Scarsdale “B,” 4-3 in a non-league girls’ soccer game.

     Gina Miele also scored a goal for Nyack. Sierra Raglin, Evie Toland and Tayo Tyler collected assists for the Indians. Jessica Gelbman (eight saves) and Jalin Cunningham combined for 12 saves.

   Marinello, Richards headline Nanuet in 1-0 win over Pearl River

    Richards makes 19 saves for Golden Knights

 

     NANUET -- Laura Marinello scored a first-half and goalie Melissa Richards made it stand yesterday as Nanuet defeated visiting Pearl River, 1-0 in a National League girls' soccer game.

     Richards made 19 saves as the Golden Knights have now gone 5-1-1 in its last seven games.

     "Pearl River is an excellent team that moved well with and without the ball," Nanuet coach Mike Henderson said. "They took alot of shots, but we held them off. Melissa played an amazing game, coming up with many big saves."

   Anselmi, Aylmer fuel North Rockland win over Clarkstown North

    Tandem each with a goal and an assist

 

    NEW CITY -- Eleni Anselmi and Nicole Aylmer each had a goal and an assist yesterday as North Rockland defeated host Clarkstown North, 3-1 in an American League girls’ soccer game.

     The score was even at 1-1 at halftime before the Red Raiders scored twice in the second half.

     Andy Curcio also had a goal for North Rockland and Shannon Robinson made four saves.

     Liz Pahiakos scored in the first half for Clarkstown North. Brooke Schwartz made 12 saves.

    Hutter adds a goal and two assists in sixth win

 

    WEST NYACK -- Allison Kopuneck had two goals and Kaitlyn Hutter added one goal and two assists yesterday as Clarkstown South defeated visiting East Ramapo, 7-1 in an American League girls’ soccer game.

     Clarkstown South has won five of its last six games, improving to 6-2.

     Brianna McMahon and Laura Castaldo each scored their first varsity goal and Riana Borelli registered her first varsity point, an assist. Carly Glaser and Shannon Kopuneck completed the goalscoring for the victors.

     Victoria Nelson scored in the second half for East Ramapo, assisted by Courtney Jasmine.

    Five different players score for the Pirates

 

    PEARL RIVER -- Pearl River received goals from five different players yesterday and went on to a 5-0 win over visiting Nyack in a National League girls’ soccer game.

     Emily Aristizabal had a goal and an assist. Samantha Payne, Lauren Cook, Kiera McMullan and Casey Walsh also had goals and Kayleigh Howe had an assist.

     Maddie Wilson handled four shots and Francesca Cobuzzi made five saves to combine on the shutout.

     Jessica Gelbman had seven saves for Jalin Cunningham made three for Nyack.

   Lachman, McIndoe have two goals apiece in Clarkstown North win

 

    NEW CITY -- Janie Lachman scored twice and had two assists and Mackenzie McIndoe had two goals and an assist yesterday as Clarkstown North defeated visiting Pine Bush, 7-0 in a girls’ soccer game.

     The Rams led 2-0 at halftime before erupting for five goals in the second half.

Ellie McKinstry and Jessie Alcheh each had a goal and an assist. Brooke Schwartz had five saves and Gabby Raines made four saves for the shutout.

   Flinn goal late lifts Nanuet to 1-0 win 

 

    NANUET -- Nisha Flinn scored with three minutes remaining in the game yesterday, giving Nanuet a 1-0 win over Albertus Magnus in a National League girls’ soccer game.

     It was Nanuet’s third consecutive win of the season.

     “The game was back and forth throughout, and it was a fun game to watch,” Nanuet coach Mike Henderson said.

    WEST NYACK -- Briana Jean-Charles posted her second hat trick of the season yesterday as Clarkstown South defeated rival Clarkstown North, 5-0 in a girls’ soccer game.

    Allison Kopuneck and Kaitlyn Montera also scored goals.

    Jill Murawski made three saves while Clarkstown North goalie Brooke Schwartz collected 13 saves.
